Amy's was the official UK representative and stockist of three amazing brands: Turquoise, Mr Tango Shoes and Very Fine.
Turquoise Shoes are famous for being visually stunning, a bit quirky and different from most tango shoes, without sacrificing comfort and good engineering. Beloved by many professional dancers, their unique creations are handmade in the heart of the Istanbul tango scene and popular all over the world.
Turquoise was founded by Baris Sozen, Hande Orhan and Hasan Seremet. From the start the company ethos has been to focus on fit, comfort and knockout style. Since 2014 they have designed shoes for Dancing With the Stars with the show's official shoe supplier, Worldtone Dance of New York and Los Angeles.
The shoes are lightweight but stable, with comfortable padding, soft soles and full leather lining. Womens models are decorated with the Turquoise logo on the buckle - a butterfly charm that sways about as you move. They refresh core designs regularly and produce many limited edition models each season using stunning colours and unusual materials. Turquoise Leon shoes for men feature soft soles and stylish designs with beautiful detail and finishing.

Mr Tango Shoes is owned by Jorge Nel Giraldo and Sandra Milena Buitrago. A dancer and teacher for over 30 years, Jorge Nel is a legend in his own right and has been in countless tango films and shows. He even has a day named after him: 15th May in Florida is Jorge Nel Day! Milena is a lifelong dancer, a national champion in Tango Salon and a passionate supporter of Colombian tango talent.
Son of a shoemaker, Jorge Nel has been creating shoes since 1990. Made in Manizales, Colombia, his team use local leathers known for being buttery soft and strong and imported leathers in a kaleidoscope of patterns and colours. The shoes have an exceptionally sturdy shank, user friendly heels and supremely comfortable padding. The attention to detail is superb with piped edges, shaped trims, secure straps and soft leather lining. Their men's shoes are works of art, traditionally made and beautifully finished. We were proud to work with this small-scale producer preserving the craft of shoemaking.
